Dogs have been called “Man’s Best Friend” for a long time, and we love spending time with them: playing fetch, going on walks, or just enjoying each other’s company. So, it makes sense that we want to take them with us wherever we go! Luckily for any resident of Hyde Park, there are lots of dog-friendly spaces around the neighborhood where you can hang out with your perfect pooch!

JACKSON BARK
6000 S LAKE SHORE DR.

It goes without saying that Hyde Park’s resident dog park is a great place to take your pet. Jackson Bark is a community dog park named after the human park right next door, Jackson Park. Jackson Bark was the first dog park on the South Side, and it’s the largest enclosed park in the city as it was built from four unused tennis courts. The park’s amenities, including seating, trash cans, baggie dispensers, canine platforms, A-frames, and teeter-totters are built from recycled materials, making the whole place planet-friendly, too!
