Hyde Park is home to many rental living options. Still, our residents choose Ivy Residences for our updated apartment homes, great walkable locations, and our commitment to providing the best living experience possible. We take that seriously.

Across the country, there is a pervasive problem with package theft. Chicago and Hyde Park, unfortunately, are no different.

However, we’re people, too. We understand the ease of online shopping and the convenience of auto-ship. Especially during the high-delivery times, like around the holidays and during the cold winter months, the increase in package deliveries entices those with sticky fingers to act on their poor morals.

Ivy Residences wants to help our residents keep their deliveries as safe as possible. To do this, our best recommendation is to make smart decisions when having packages sent to you. This can be done in a few different ways:

When ordering a package to be delivered, your package will be placed in a public area of your apartment building. With this in mind, here are some additional helpful tips for packages getting delivered to your apartment community:

If the above recommendations aren’t possible for your situation, that’s okay.
  • Send packages to a different address, such as a work address or a family member’s home
  • Ship to an Amazon Locker–the nearest locations are at Whole Foods on Lake Park Ave or at Kimbark Plaza (east exterior wall of Leona’s)
  • Contact your delivery provider to keep your package at the nearby facility until you are available to personally pick it up:

GENERAL COMMUNITY DETAILS

We understand that sometimes, packages come out of the blue. A friend sends an unexpected birthday gift, or maybe your parents send a care package. As residents of each apartment community, it’s our collective responsibility to do our part to ensure that the community stays as safe as possible.
  • Never prop any exterior doors open.
  • Never let anyone into your building who you do not personally know. Guests should only be let in by the resident they are visiting, always.
    • As a reminder, all Ivy Residences employees and vendors, including maintenance technicians, cleaning professionals, and so on, are granted key access by the office.
